The Ugandan crew of Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba is among the 39 crews confirmed for the 2025 WRC Safari Rally Kenya.

The 2019 and 2023 Uganda National Rally Champion, will be putting on sticker number 40.

The last time Yasin participated in this event was last year putting on sticker number 35 but didn’t finish following a dreadful exit.

He saw all his efforts disappear when he rolled the Ford Fiesta rally2 in SS7, Kedong stage.

He now heads into this year’s edition hunting for a first Safari Rally finish. In 2021, the crew exited the event on leg two with an engine failure.

The other Ugandan on the list is Timothy Gawaya co-driven by Francis Wamala in Ibiza.

The two Ugandans will be competing in the African Rally Championship category alongside Kenya’s Sameer Nanji, Karan Patel, Jasmeet Chana, Curl Tundo, Jeremiah Wahome, Hamza Anwar, Samman Singh Vohra, Aakif Virani and Ishmael Ombati.

Toyota Gazoo registered four crews with Hyundai and M-Sport Ford having three each.

In WRC2, reigning champion Oliver Solberg headlines the category in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, while Kajetan Kajetanowicz debuts a similar car. Other notable entries include Jan Solans, Gus Greensmith, and FIA Junior WRC regular Diego Dominguez, who all begin their WRC2 campaigns here. Paraguay’s Fau Zaldivar is another name to watch.
