UPDF FC vs NEC FC at Bombo Barracks Military Ground
NEC FC travel to Bombo with one clear mission of keeping pressure on league leaders Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title race. After a commanding 3-1 win over Express, the Die Hards sit second on 47 points from 21 games, just five behind Vipers who have played a game more.
Coach Hussein Mbalangu’s side has been on a remarkable run, unbeaten in their last 14 matches and have proven to be solid travelers, earning 16 points from 10 away fixtures, including three wins in their last seven away outings.

Their opponents, UPDF FC, are coming off a morale boosting 1-0 win over Wakiso Giants, thanks to Samuel Ssekamatte’s goal, and will look to turn their decent home form into a major upset. Under Coach Paul Kiwanuka, the army side has matched their points tally from the past two seasons with 27 points, currently placing them 10th.
However, history doesn’t favour UPDF in this matchup as they’ve never beaten NEC FC in three attempts, suffering two defeats including a 1-0 reverse fixture loss, where Rashid Okocha scored the late winner at the Philip Omondi Stadium.
