Uganda Premier League, Wednesday at 7pm
Vipers v Mbale Heroes
NEC v BUL

The 2024/25 Uganda Premier League title race could be settled this Wednesday, depending on the outcomes of matches involving Vipers SC and NEC FC.

Table-toppers Vipers SC, currently on 62 points, will host already relegated Mbale Heroes at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende a fixture in which they are heavily favored to claim all three points.

Second-placed NEC, five points behind Vipers, will face a tougher challenge as they welcome an in-form BUL FC side that remains unbeaten in the second round. A win for Vipers would push them to 65 points with only two games left, increasing the pressure on NEC.

For NEC to keep their title ambitions alive, they must defeat BUL. Any slip either a draw or a loss at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo combined with a Vipers win, would see the gap at the top widen to seven or eight points, effectively handing the title to Vipers with two games to spare.

Coaches John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza will be aiming to seal the championship early, while Hussein Mbalangu’s NEC must deliver a near-perfect performance to keep the race going.
