Two of the Uganda Premier League’s hottest teams, UPPC Entebbe and Kitara FC, renew their rivalry today at Bugonga Fisheries Grounds, with a spot in the Uganda Cup Round of 16 hanging in the balance.

The spotlight will be on UPPC’s rock-solid defense, which has gone nine matches unbeaten without conceding a single goal in all competitions. Guided by the experienced coaching duo Abdallah Mubiru and Livingstone Mbabazi, the Eastern Giants have relied on defensive discipline and the lethal finishing of league top scorer Ambrose Kigozi to dominate opponents. Supporting him, Fazil Tumwine, Steven Munguchi, and Julius Poloto will aim to unlock Kitara’s resilient backline.

Kitara arrive with confidence of their own, unbeaten in seven matches across competitions and boasting attacking firepower led by Patrick Kaddu. The Hoima side could also unveil new recruits Muhammad Shaban and Edson Agondeze, adding an extra edge to their Cup ambitions.

Last December, UPPC edged Kitara 1-0 in a tightly contested league encounter, and history suggests another close, tactical battle is on the cards. Both sides have shown consistency and patience, setting the stage for a high-quality, tension-filled knockout clash that promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

Meanwhile, defending champions Vipers SC aim to shake off back-to-back draws when they host regional side Pajule Lions at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, under the floodlights—a mismatch in form but one they cannot underestimate.

With defensive mastery meeting attacking flair, today’s fixtures offer more than just a Cup tie—they are a showcase of strategy, resilience, and talent at the top of Ugandan football.
