URA FC will aim to continue their dominant home form when they host UPDF FC at Nakivubo.
The Tax Collectors have been solid on home turf, securing three consecutive 1-0 victories against Maroons, Police, and Lugazi, with clean sheets in all three matches. However, they are coming off a 1-0 loss to Kitara FC and will be eager to bounce back.
URA holds a strong head-to-head advantage over UPDF, unbeaten in their last nine meetings (4 wins, 5 draws). They currently sit sixth in the league standings with 27 points, three ahead of ninth-placed UPDF. Vipers lead the standings with 46 points.
On the other hand, UPDF FC is in high spirits after a 2-0 win over defending champions SC Villa, with goals from Kitara Daniel and Brian Kalumba. They have started the second round impressively, winning both games, including a 1-0 away victory against Mbarara City. However, UPDF has struggled against URA, failing to score in their last three encounters and managing only two wins in seven visits to Nakivubo.
Coach Paul Kiwanuka’s side faces a tough challenge against URA. Historically, UPDF has struggled against the Tax Collectors. LThey have also failed to score against URA in their last three encounters. The reverse fixture ended in a goalless draw at the Bombo Barracks Military Ground.
URA will be eager to bounce back from their loss to Kitara and maintain their strong home record. Their defensive solidity has been key, and another low-scoring affair could be expected.
UPDF, however, has started the second round in impressive form and will be confident following their win over SC Villa. They will look to break their goal drought against URA and capitalize on any defensive lapses.
