Rather than waiting for the season to unfold, the Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) has opted to build the 2026 campaign from the ground up—starting with the people who shape players every day.
In a departure from routine administrative meetings, the UTTA Executive Technical Team convened a nationwide coaching forum at Grand Maria School in Nabbingo, drawing 30 coaches into a detailed planning conversation about the future direction of the sport.

The engagement focused on bridging the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that national objectives reflect the realities at club, school, and regional levels. By involving coaches early, UTTA is seeking to turn long-term ambitions into competitive results on the table.
UTTA president Cyrus Mark Muwanga described the meeting as a critical step in strengthening the sport’s foundation. He noted that the ideas shared will directly influence how competitions, training programs, and development pathways are structured ahead of the new season.

Although the full 2026 calendar is still being finalized, the consultation signaled a shift toward a more coordinated and professional approach. Coaches and administrators worked through issues of player progression, tournament relevance, and how best to structure programs that support both elite performance and grassroots growth.
As implementation begins, UTTA’s approach points to a season built on shared ownership and clear direction—one that aims to deliver consistency, growth, and measurable improvement across all levels of Ugandan table tennis.
