Livingstone Mulondo and Yunus Ssentamu scored in each half as Vipers SC secured a 2-0 victory over KCCA FC at the FUFA Kadiba Stadium to win the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Mulondo opened the scoring in the 5th minute with his fourth goal of the tournament, earning him the competition’s top scorer accolade where he tied with Yunus Ssentamu. His early strike gave Vipers a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

KCCA returned from the break with renewed energy, pushing hard for an equalizer. However, a costly defensive error by Peter Magambo in the 54th minute allowed Ssentamu to double Vipers’ lead.
Despite KCCA’s persistent efforts to pull one back, Vipers’ defense led by a solid performance from goalkeeper Derrick Kiggundu held firm to keep a clean sheet.

The win marks Vipers’ second domestic double, having the first one during the 2022/23 season. Since Vipers will represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League having won the league, the Confederation Cup slot normally awarded to the Uganda Cup winner, will instead go to NEC FC, who finished second in the league.
