Vipers SC has been officially declared champions of the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League following the conclusion of the season on Saturday. The Venoms clinched the title after an outstanding campaign in which they outclassed all other contenders.

The crowning ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Stadium immediately after their final match of the season, which ended in a 1-1 draw against Soltilo Bright Stars FC. Alou Kokas opened the scoring for the visitors, but Vipers’ Allan Okello equalized from the penalty spot—his 19th goal of the season—earning him the league’s top scorer award.

FUFA President Hon. Moses Hassim Magogo presented the newly unveiled league trophy, named Margherita after the highest peak of the Rwenzori mountain ranges, to Vipers’ captain Milton Karisa. The trophy had been revealed earlier in the week by club legend Tonny Odur.

Vipers SC wrapped up the season with 69 points, narrowly edging out NEC FC by two points. NEC secured second place after a 1-0 victory over URA FC in Lugogo.
