After registering DNFs in the past two WRC Safari rallies, Uganda’s rally driver, Yasin Nasser vows to clear all the mistakes with a finish this time round.
The crew of Yasin co-driven by Ali Katumba is among the 39 crews confirmed for the 2025 WRC Safari Rally Kenya slated for next week from 20-23rd March.
Yasin will be searching for the WRC safari rally finish as well chasing for Africa Rally Championship points.

The 2019 and 2023 Uganda National Rally Champion, who spent today morning training at Garuga raceway track, will be putting on sticker number 40 in this attempt at the prestigious World event.
“That incident in Kedong took us by surprise. We couldn’t believe the extent of the damage when we got out of the car. We were doing a second pass on Kedong but because of the impact of the previous cars; especially the WRC cars, a ditch was created in the fesh fesh. We could not anticipate it in our notes and that explained the roll,” said Yasin.

The last time Yasin participated in this event was last year putting on sticker number 35 but didn’t finish following a dreadful exit. He saw all his efforts disappear when he rolled the Ford Fiesta rally2 in SS7, Kedong stage.
“We are not giving up on Safari. Our preparations for the event remain the same as before and we are hopeful that this time we shall do much better. We are going to give it 99.9 per cent. Thankful to our sponsors that Nemo is firmly back on track. The team is ready,” he added.
