KIGALI – The first leg of the 2025/26 Rwanda Women’s Super League concluded on Christmas Eve with a dramatic final round of fixtures that saw Police WFC cement their place at the top of the table.
Despite a hard-fought draw in their final match of the year, the Law Enforcers remain the only unbeaten team in the division.
Police WFC Survives Munyinya Test
In the highlight fixture of Matchday 11, league leaders Police WFC traveled to the Munyinya Pitch to face a resilient Inyemera WFC. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, allowing Police to finish the first leg with 27 points from 11 matches (8 wins and 3 draws). While the draw slowed their momentum, it was enough to maintain a three-point cushion at the summit.
Rayon Sports Held by Muhazi United
Defending champions Rayon Sports WFC missed a golden opportunity to close the gap on the leaders. Facing Muhazi United WFC at the AEE Rwamagana ground, the “Gikundiro” ladies were frustrated to a 0-0 stalemate. The result leaves Rayon Sports in second place with 24 points, having suffered only one defeat in the first half of the season.

Key Results from Day 11
The final day of the first leg saw several significant movements in the standings:

Half-Way Standings: The Battle for Africa
As the league takes a mid-season break, the race for the CAF Women’s Champions League (CECAFA Zone) spot is heating up. Police WFC holds the pole position, but with Rayon Sports and Indahangarwa trailing closely, the second leg promises high-octane football in early 2026.
At the bottom of the table, Nyagatare WFC faces a mountain to climb in the second leg, having failed to secure a single point or score a goal in their first 11 matches.
The second round of the league will commence next year.
