Uganda’s rising squash star Aaron Isabirye received a hero’s welcome upon returning to his home school, St. Benedict Nursery and Primary School, following his outstanding performance at the 3rd Mid-Year Parklands Juniors Squash Tournament held in Kenya.

The 10-year-old produced a remarkable display, winning the Under-13 Boys title after defeating Kenya’s Henry Sishia in straight games (3–0). Aaron also impressed in the Under-15 Boys category, where he advanced to the latter stages of the competition despite competing against older and more experienced opponents.

The tournament, held from 27th June 2026, attracted 80 junior squash players from across the East African region, providing a highly competitive platform for emerging talent.

Aaron’s latest triumph marks another significant milestone in his rapidly growing squash career. He has now won four junior tournaments at Kampala Club Ltd and has previously earned recognition as the Upcoming Junior Player, Best Junior Player, and Most Promising Junior Player.

A resident of Nansana, Uganda, Aaron is a Primary Five (P.5) pupil at St. Ben Primary School in Kyebando, Kabulengwa. His achievements continue to inspire young athletes and demonstrate Uganda’s growing potential in junior squash.

Speaking to the media after the tournament, Aaron’s coach, Mr. Kawoya Michael, praised the youngster’s exceptional talent, discipline, and determination.

“Bringing home medals and accolades from such a prestigious championship is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and dedication of our players and coaches. Aaron has shown tremendous character, and this is only the beginning of an exciting journey,” he said.

Kampala Club Ltd extended its sincere appreciation to Mogas Oli, the Kampala Club Ltd management, and all the well-wishers whose financial and moral support made the successful trip to Kenya possible. The club noted that their unwavering encouragement played a vital role in turning the dream into reality.

Aaron’s latest success further cements his status as one of Uganda’s brightest young squash prospects, with many expecting even greater achievements in regional and international competitions in the years ahead.
