The race for the National Basketball League’s regular-season top spot could go down to the final game when defending champions Namuwongo Blazers take on UCU Canons at Lugogo on Friday evening.
Having already secured a place in the playoffs, the Blazers still have plenty to play for. A victory would see them finish the regular season level with City Oilers on a 20-2 record and move ahead of their rivals courtesy of a superior head-to-head record.
The Oilers currently occupy first place after completing their schedule, but Namuwongo have the opportunity to snatch the summit after splitting their two meetings with the record champions and holding the advantage on aggregate points.
