Buddo Secondary School clinched their third USSSA Boys’ National Football Championship title after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over long-time rivals St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende in Wednesday’s final held in Ngora District.

Under the guidance of head coach Richard Malinga, Buddo SS held their nerve to win 6-5 on penalties following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Kitende, who were eyeing a record-extending 12th national crown, fell short in the final hurdle, with Buddo exacting sweet revenge for their 2-0 defeat to Kitende at the district level earlier in the season.

This latest triumph adds to Buddo’s previous national titles in 2009 and 2018, solidifying their status as one of the dominant forces in Ugandan school football.
Bukedea Comprehensive School finished third at the tournament, rounding off a competitive championship.
Buddo SS, St Mary’s SS Kitende, Bukedea Comprehensive, and Amus College have now earned the right to represent Uganda at this year’s Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games in Kenya.
