Buhimba United Launches Internal Inquiry, Benches Key Quartet

Buhimba United Saints’ encouraging start to life in the Uganda Premier League has taken an unexpected twist, with the club launching an internal probe that has forced four first-team players out of the picture—at least for now.

Rather than focusing on tactics or transfers, the Kikuube side has shifted its attention inward after management convened on November 12 to address what it described as “matters requiring investigation.” The meeting resulted in a disciplinary committee being formed, and its first move was to sideline Moses Ayebale, Fred Nkata, Dudu Ramadhan and David Kasaija.

The club did not disclose the specific concerns under review, but the decision references alleged breaches tied to Article 4, subsection XIV of the FUFA Competitions Rules—an area that governs players’ conduct and obligations under contract. In formal letters signed by CEO Brenda Nyamwiza, all four players were instructed to stay away from team activities and refrain from representing the club in any capacity while inquiries proceed.

The communications emphasised that the suspensions are temporary and will remain in place “until investigations are complete,” adding that the move falls within Articles 8 and 10 of the players’ contracts, which outline disciplinary procedures and club authority during internal reviews.

Interestingly, Buhimba also took time to commend the quartet’s contribution to their impressive top-flight debut, noting their competitiveness and commitment to the club’s early-season ambitions. The Saints currently sit sixth in the UPL table with nine points from six matches—an encouraging return for a newly promoted side.

For now, however, all eyes remain on the outcome of the committee’s investigations, which could shape both player futures and the club’s momentum as the season unfolds.
