MOMBASA, KENYA – Kenyan Premier League side Bandari FC has officially parted ways with Head Coach Mohamed Borji and his assistant Tarik Bendamou effective immediately, plunging the club into further uncertainty amidst a disastrous start to the 2025/26 campaign.
The development at the Mombasa-based club is of significant concern to Ugandan football followers, as the “Dockers” are home to two prominent Ugandan exports currently fighting for top-flight survival.
Experienced forward William Wadri, a staple at the coastal club since joining from Uganda Police FC in 2019, and teammate Jackson Dwang now face a critical period of transition as the club scrambles to save its season.

The Final Straw
The decision to axe the technical bench comes after a dismal run of form that has left Bandari flirting dangerously with relegation. According to an official statement signed by Ag. CEO Tony L. Kibwana on Thursday, December 11, the move followed a “review of the team’s technical direction as the club focuses on restrategizing its performance.”
Borji’s tenure was characterized by a severe lack of winning goals. His time at the helm began with frustrating goalless draws against AFC Leopards and Mara Sugar FC, before suffering a heavy 3-1 defeat to Nairobi United.
While Borji briefly steadied the ship with a 1-1 draw against KCB FC and secured his only victory—a 2-0 win over Sofapaka the relief was short-lived.
Subsequent draws against Bidco United and Ulinzi Stars built pressure, but the final straw was a humbling 1-0 loss to league debutants APS Bomet in their most recent outing.

Relegation Dogfight
The statistics paint a grim picture for Wadri, Dwang, and their teammates. Bandari currently languishes in 14th place in the standings, managing only 12 points. Having secured just two wins in eleven matches overall this season, the club sits above the relegation zone merely on goal difference.
The club management hopes the change at the top will spark an immediate revival to avoid the drop.
“The club will in coming days announce new technical arrangements,” the official statement read. “In the meantime, Coach Razak Siwa will oversee the upcoming match.”
The Ugandan contingent at Bandari will now be looking to impress interim Coach Siwa as they attempt to drag the team away from the danger zone in the crucial fixtures ahead.

This is a real shame for Bandari, hoping they can find a strong replacement quickly before it’s too late.
