JKL Dolphins cruised to a commanding 71-53 win over KIU Titans in a midweek National Basketball League clash at YMCA Wandegeya, putting on a balanced team performance that sealed their eighth win of the season.
The Dolphins stamped their authority early, racing to a 22-8 lead in the first quarter, setting the tone for a match they controlled for the most part. Though the Titans clawed back slightly by edging the second quarter 15-13, JKL maintained a healthy 12-point cushion heading into halftime.
KIU showed signs of a comeback in the third quarter and managed to reduce the deficit to just four points after Peter Ajok’s late layup, closing the period at 46-42. However, that was as close as they got.

In the final stretch, JKL reasserted control, outplaying the Titans on both ends to stretch their lead and finish with an emphatic 18-point victory.
Kesseng Kesseng was a standout performer, registering a double-double with 15 points and a dominant 23 rebounds. Haron Alinaitwe added 21 points, while Wilson Otweyo chipped in with 15 as the Dolphins spread the scoring load effectively.
For the Titans, Hon Kwany (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Akok Peter (10 points, 12 rebounds) recorded double-doubles of their own, but it wasn’t enough to stop a determined Dolphins side.
The result pushes JKL further up the standings as they continue their push for a strong finish to the regular season.
