Entebbe UPPC FC put on a commanding display to defeat Calvary FC 4–2 in a rain-soaked Uganda Premier League encounter played on Friday evening at Midigo Primary School grounds in Yumbe.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, the visitors showed composure and attacking precision to secure all three points away from home.
After a tightly contested opening 30 minutes, Entebbe took the lead in the 37th minute when Junior Samuel Kawawa tapped in from Muhammad Kyeyune’s clever assist. The visitors went into halftime leading 1–0 as heavy rain began to pour, delaying the start of the second half.
Once play resumed, Hassan Ssenyongo doubled Entebbe’s advantage in the 49th minute with a well-taken finish, but Calvary responded quickly through John Rogers, who pulled one back just three minutes later.
Entebbe, however, restored their cushion when substitute Ambrose Kigozi made it 3–1 before Kyeyune struck again to stretch the lead to 4–1 in the 66th minute.
Calvary earned a late penalty after Agotre was fouled in the box, and Lawrence Olaboro converted confidently from the spot to reduce the deficit to 4–2, but it proved only a consolation.
The hosts’ efforts to stage a comeback were frustrated by a disciplined Entebbe side that managed the game well until the final whistle.
