KCCA FC sealed their place in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final after a 1-1 draw with FUFA Big League side Kataka FC in the return leg of the semi-finals, advancing with a 4-1 aggregate score.

Having established a commanding 3-0 lead in the first leg at Lugogo, the Kasasiro Boys needed only to avoid defeat in Sunday’s clash at Mbale Municipal Stadium to progress.

Joao Gabriel put KCCA ahead just a minute after the break in the 46th minute, but Kataka responded through Michael Olingazi, who equalized in the 65th minute. Despite Kataka’s spirited effort, the game ended in a stalemate, confirming KCCA’s ticket to the final.

KCCA will now face Vipers SC in the highly anticipated final scheduled for May 31 at Kadiba Stadium in Mengo. The winner will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.

If Vipers, who have already clinched the league title, win the Uganda Cup, they will complete a domestic double for the second time in the club’s history. However, since they are already set to play in the CAF Champions League, the CAF Confederation Cup slot would instead go to NEC FC, who are second in the Uganda Premier League standings.
