KCCA FC will be aiming to book their place in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final as they travel to Mbale Municipal Stadium today, Sunday for the second leg of their semi-final clash against Kataka FC.

The Kasasiro Boys head into the decisive fixture with a comfortable 3-0 lead from the first leg, putting them in a strong position to advance.

Despite the cushion, interim head coach Jackson Magera has warned his players against complacency.

“We can’t afford to be relaxed because of the first-leg result,” Magera cautioned. “Kataka will be tough at home. We must stay focused and push for a positive outcome. Scoring early would help settle the game and apply pressure, we must approach this like a battle.”

KCCA FC, the most decorated team in Uganda Cup history, will miss several key players for the trip. Etienne Katenga, Derrick Nsibambi, and Shafic Nana Kwikiriza are all sidelined with injuries, while defender Peter Magambo is suspended after accumulating two yellow cards.

Meanwhile, Kataka FC remain hopeful of pulling off a dramatic turnaround in front of their home fans.

“Our mindset is to attack,” said Kataka head coach Godfrey Owachango. “We know the odds, but this is football anything can happen, especially on home turf.”

If KCCA manage to hold their advantage, they will set up a highly anticipated final showdown with Vipers SC, who eliminated defending champions Kitara FC on Saturday.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup final is slated for May 31st at Kadiba Stadium in Mengo, and will be played under the floodlights for the first time.
