Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC has bolstered its attacking lineup with the official signing of striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe, marking the club’s first major move of the 2025 transfer window.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 1, via KCCA’s official social media channels, with the club welcoming their new frontman in a bold statement: “Our first signing is locked in.”
Ahimbisibwe, affectionately nicknamed “The Hunter,” expressed his excitement about joining the Lugogo-based outfit. “Hello Citizens! My name is Ivan Ahimbisibwe, the Hunter, and I can’t wait to get started,” he declared.
KCCA’s pursuit of a goal-scoring forward intensified following the departure of Shaban Muhammad, and Ahimbisibwe’s arrival signals the club’s intent to fill that void with proven firepower. The 27-year-old forward is coming off a stellar Uganda Premier League season in which he netted 16 goals, just three shy of top scorer Allan Okello.

Ahimbisibwe’s journey in Ugandan football has seen him rise through the ranks, beginning at Synergy FC before enjoying a lengthy spell at Nyamityobora. He later featured for UPDF FC, where he made his mark under coach Brian Ssenyondo, a familiar face he now reunites with at KCCA before landing a high-profile move to URA FC.
The reunion with Ssenyondo is expected to be key in helping Ahimbisibwe settle quickly and replicate his scoring form as KCCA looks to challenge for silverware in the upcoming season.
With this signing, KCCA has laid down an early marker in the transfer window, signaling their ambitions for a strong comeback in the league.
