Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC have strengthened their defensive options with the signing of versatile defender Jamaldin Buchochera from Rwanda Premier League outfit Gasogi United.
The experienced defender has penned a two-year contract with Lugazi, becoming the club’s second signing ahead of the new campaign after the return of Louis Anguti.
Buchochera arrives with a wealth of experience gained in both Uganda and Rwanda.
Comfortable at centre-back, right-back and in defensive midfield, the utility player is expected to provide depth and flexibility as Lugazi FC rebuild for the upcoming season.
The defender spent the last three years at Gasogi United after joining the Rwandan club in 2023. Prior to his move across the border, he featured for Mbale Heroes between 2018 and 2021, Gaddafi FC during the 2022/23 season, and BUL FC from 2015 to 2017.
His arrival continues Lugazi FC’s efforts to reinforce the squad as they seek a stronger showing in the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.
