Lugazi FC have bolstered their midfield ranks with the acquisition of seasoned playmaker Solomon Ali Okwalinga from Kitara FC. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the club until July 2027.

Okwalinga brings a wealth of top-flight experience, having featured prominently in the Uganda Premier League over the last six years. He first rose to prominence during a four-year spell at Synergy FC (2013–2017), before making his top-tier debut with Mbarara City in the 2017/18 season.

His standout displays at Mbarara earned him a move to KCCA FC in 2018, where he added silverware to his name by helping the Kasasiro Boys lift the Stanbic Uganda Cup. He later joined Onduparaka FC for the 2019/20 campaign before making a return to Mbarara City for a second stint that lasted until 2023.

In July 2023, Okwalinga signed for Kitara FC and played a vital role in their successful Uganda Cup campaign. He etched his name in club history by netting the winning goal in the final against NEC FC at Wankulukuku in May 2024, securing his second Uganda Cup title.

During the 2023/24 season, he contributed five assists and one goal for Kitara, highlighting his creative impact in midfield.

Okwalinga becomes Lugazi FC’s fifth signing of the transfer window, joining the likes of Dauson Mafumu, Paul Busolo, Yusuf Mafabi, and Owachgiu Edrine Junior as the club continues to strengthen ahead of the new season.
