UPDF 0-0 NEC
NEC FC title credentials were dented following a goalless draw against UPDF in Bombo.
They come into this game with hope of piling pressure to table leaders who were ahead of them by five points but that didn’t after dropping two points.
They now sit second on 48 points from 22 games, just four behind table leaders Vipers.
Coach Hussein Mbalangu’s side will blame themselves for not being clinical enough. Despite creating several chances but they were all put to waste.
Cromwel Rwothomio, Paul Mucureezi and Muzamiru Mutyaba who had the responsibility of scoring for NEC didn’t turn up. In fact Mucureezi who has been the best player for NEC in the previous games failed to replicate his performance.
UPDF will also be thankful to their defence commanded by Bernard Muwanga and Denis Sekitoleko for being solid. The Bombo based side also managed to get a few scoring opportunities but were not put to use.
However, although history has in the past not favored UPDF in matchup with NEC but the point they picked at home helped them to improve their standings in the league this season.
The result saw them move to 28 points in the tenth position.
