Vipers SC head to Butema, Hoima, on a mission to bounce back and move within touching distance of securing the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League title. The Venoms, who suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to BUL last weekend, saw their title celebrations postponed but still sit firmly at top the table with 65 points, four ahead of NEC, with just two games remaining.
A victory against Kitara FC would all but guarantee Vipers their seventh league crown.
Vipers head coach Fred Muhumuza underlined the significance of the fixture as the season approaches its climax.

“We’ve prepared well. There are only two games left and the boys know exactly what’s at stake just one win. It’s been a demanding run, and while fatigue is there, it’s character that matters most. I trust this team,” he said via the club’s media.
Vipers hold a strong record against Kitara, unbeaten in their five previous encounters, including a 1-0 win in the recent Uganda Cup semi final first leg at Kitende.
Star players Allan Okello, Milton Karisa, and Karim Watambala are expected to play pivotal roles in steering the champions across the finish line.
On the other side, Kitara FC, led by head coach Wasswa Bbosa, will be determined to stall Vipers’ title charge and settle the score after their Uganda Cup defeat. The Hoima-based outfit has been formidable at home this season, with notable victories over top-tier sides like KCCA, and will be banking on home support to unsettle their visitors.
With high stakes and pressure mounting, the stage is set for a thrilling contest that could decide the destiny of the league title
