Vipers SC and Kitara FC are set for a high-stakes clash tonight in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-finals at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. With both sides bringing strong narratives into the fixture, it promises to be a compelling battle.

Vipers SC come in as Uganda Premier League leaders with 62 points and just four games to go.

They’re aiming for a league and Uganda Cup, a feat that would cap off their season impressively.

After eliminating SC Villa, Coach Fred Muhumuza emphasized squad depth and focus, despite the tight schedule. Star duo Allan Okello and captain Milton Karisa are expected to be central in tonight’s push for a first-leg edge.

Meanwhile, Kitara FC, the defending Uganda Cup champions, are eyeing back-to-back finals. They come off a thrilling win over BUL FC and will be looking to end their winless run at Kitende.

Coach Wasswa Bbosa is keeping spirits high, stating that, “We are defending champions… the team is ready.” The return of George Ssenkaaba, Patrick Kaddu, and Benjamin Nyakoojo bolsters their chances.

Their last Cup meeting saw Kitara stun Vipers in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in Masindi. Vipers will be keen for revenge, while Kitara aim to prove their resilience once again.
