Uganda Premier League delivered contrasting outcomes on Friday as Vipers were held by BUL FC while UPDF shared spoils with Buhimba United Saints.
At the FUFA Technical Centre, Vipers settled for a 1-1 draw against BUL FC. Karim Watambala gave the visitors the lead in the 31st minute, heading home after a poor clearance from a throw-in to hand Vipers a 1-0 advantage at halftime.
BUL responded immediately after the break, with Abdul Karim Ndugwa nodding in Denis Ssewagudde’s corner in the 47th minute to level matters.
The game remained evenly contested but later ended in 1all draw.
The result saw Vipers extend their lead at the top of the table to 37 points, while BUL stayed seventh on 20 points.
Meanwhile, UPDF FC and Buhimba United Saints played out a goalless draw in Bombo. UPDF were the more attacking side in the first half and even earned a penalty before the break, but Bernard Muwanga failed to convert. Both teams created half chances in a physical contest that saw several stoppages for injuries and late bookings.
