For Martin Ssenyonjo, the Nile Special National Pool Open isn’t just another tournament it’s unfinished business. After falling in the first round of last year’s grand finale, the determined cueist is back in the spotlight, having qualified once again through the Darenaz Hotel Kawanda mini-qualifier.
Unlike most weekend challengers chasing their first taste of national competition, Ssenyonjo has been here before. This marks his third attempt at breaking through the early stages to reach the deeper rounds of Uganda’s most competitive pool event.
In a qualifier packed with talented contenders, Ssenyonjo kept his composure to secure a spot alongside Nickson Mbabazi, Murushid Bulime, and P. Ssekikubo. The victory was another reminder of his steady progress since his debut years ago.

A full-time streamer but lifelong lover of the game, Ssenyonjo first made waves in 2017 when he represented Upper Volta, showcasing sharp tactical play and a calm table presence. Now, he’s channeling that experience into another run at glory, eager to rewrite his story at the upcoming grand finale.
For Ssenyonjo and many others, the road to the Nile Special Grand Finale isn’t just about winning it’s about proving that persistence, passion, and patience can turn past disappointment into triumph.
