URA FC head into tonight’s Uganda Premier League clash against UPDF at the newly refurbished Nakivubo Stadium desperate to turn promise into points after a frustrating run of four consecutive draws.
Alex Isabirye’s side have shown structure and control but little cutting edge, managing only two goals in as many weeks despite dominating possession in most games. The Tax Collectors have been held by BUL, Express, NEC, and Lugazi a streak that underlines both their defensive solidity and attacking stagnation.

Now, with the season beginning to take shape, the pressure is on Nelson Ssenkatuka and the forward line to rediscover their scoring touch. Isabirye has called for sharper finishing in the final third, knowing that another stalemate could further dampen early-season optimism.
Their visitors, UPDF FC, have had a mixed start a win, a draw, and a loss and arrive in Kampala looking to build on their decent early form. The two sides are separated by just a single point, with URA sitting 8th on four points and UPDF 12th on three.

History, however, tilts in URA’s favour. The Tax Collectors have lost only twice to UPDF in their last 16 league meetings, winning nine and drawing five. Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 2-1 in URA’s favour, thanks to goals from Moses Aliro and Abraham Tusubira, while Faridi Rashid grabbed UPDF’s consolation.
With the Nakivubo floodlights set for another big night, URA will be eager to shake off their early-season rust and finally deliver a statement win one that could ignite their campaign and reaffirm their ambitions under Isabirye.
