Kansai Plascon Uganda has announced a one-year sponsorship partnership with Uganda Aquatics, valued at UGX 100 million to strengthen the delivery of the federation’s key national events during the 2026 season.
The partnership was unveiled at the Uganda Aquatics offices at Plot 17 Cooper Road, Kisementi, and will support the federation’s key 2026 national events, including the 11th National Swimming Championships from July 2–5 at Kampala Parents School, the 1st National Open Water Swimming Championships on August 29 at Kaazi Beach on Lake Victoria, the inaugural National Uganda Open Swimming Championships on November 28–29, and the Masters Championship for adult swimmers aged 25 years and above.
Together, these events reflect Uganda Aquatics’ broader push to strengthen competitive swimming, expand aquatic disciplines beyond the pool, widen participation across clubs, schools and independent swimmers, and create more structured pathways for athlete development.

The announcement comes as Uganda Aquatics rolls out a more structured competition framework aimed at improving standards, widening participation, and creating clearer pathways for swimmers from club and league competitions to national, regional, and international representation.
The 11th National Swimming Championships, taking place from July 2 to 5, 2026 at Kampala Parents School, Naguru, will be held under Uganda Aquatics and World Aquatics technical rules, and will also serve as part of the selection events for national teams competing in regional and international events during the 2026–2027 cycle.

Commenting on the partnership, Kansai Plascon Managing Director, Mr. Santosh Gumte, said, “At Kansai Plascon, we believe sport needs consistent investment, visibility, and the right structures for talent to grow. Uganda Aquatics is entering an important phase, with stronger competition standards, new events, and wider participation across the sport.
We are proud to support this journey and to contribute to platforms that will help swimmers, coaches, clubs, and the federation build a stronger future for aquatics in Uganda,”

Welcoming the partnership, Uganda Aquatics President, Mr. Moses B. Mwase, stated that, “This partnership comes at an important moment for Uganda Aquatics. Our focus this season is to raise the quality of competition, improve event delivery, and create stronger pathways for athletes across swimming and other aquatic disciplines.
Kansai Plascon’s support will help us deliver our key national events more professionally and give our swimmers better opportunities to compete, develop, and represent Uganda with pride,” Mr. Mwase said.
