KCCA FC produced yet another late show as they clawed their way back from a goal down to defeat BUL FC 2-1 in a tense Uganda Premier League encounter at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru today. The victory not only underlined the resilience within the Lugogo camp but also propelled them back to the top of the table in emphatic fashion.
The home side, BUL FC, appeared to be in control for large stretches of the first half, pressing with urgency and forcing KCCA onto the back foot. Their persistence paid off in the 38th minute when midfielder George Kasonko capitalised on hesitant defending to drill home the opener, sending the Eastern Giants’ supporters into raptures. It was a goal that reflected BUL’s first-half discipline, intensity and tactical organisation.

KCCA, however, emerged from the halftime break with renewed purpose. They increased their tempo, stretched BUL’s defensive lines and began dictating possession. Their breakthrough arrived in the 58th minute through Sammy Ssebaduka.
KCCA then rolled the dice, introducing striker Alex Yiga in a bid to snatch all three points. The move proved decisive. As the match moved into added time with both sides desperately pushing for a winner Yiga pounced in the 94th minute, reacting quickest inside a crowded penalty area to slot home the match-winning goal. His late strike sent the traveling fans into wild celebrations and left BUL sunk in disappointment.
The win lifts KCCA FC to 20 points, putting them three clear of closest challengers Police FC, SC Villa, and Vipers SC, all tied on 17 points.
For BUL, the defeat was a painful setback. Despite a spirited performance and moments where they seemed capable of securing at least a point, they remain 11th on the log with 10 points, their inconsistency continuing to undermine their season.
