Uganda Cranes defender Kenneth Ssemakula has officially signed a two-year contract with a Kuwait Premier League side Al Arabi SC, marking the next chapter in his professional football journey. The move comes after a brief stint with Tunisian giants Club Africain, where he gained valuable experience on the North African football scene.
Known for his composure, aerial ability, and strong tackling, the verstalie player who can play both in defence and midfield, has steadily risen through the ranks — from the Uganda Premier League to the national team, and now to the Middle East.

His switch to Kuwait signals growing international interest in Ugandan footballers, as more players from the region continue to attract attention from clubs in North Africa, the Gulf, and Europe.
The former SC Villa defender joined Club Africain earlier last year and he managed at 20 appearances.
On the international stage, Ssemakula has been consistent performer with the Uganda Cranes. He has become a reliable figure in coach Paul Put’s squad, often partnering with more experienced defenders at the heart of the defense. His versatility — being able to play both as a center-back and right-back — makes him a valuable asset for any team.
The move to Kuwait also aligns with a broader trend of East African players seeking greener pastures in Middle Eastern leagues, which offer competitive football and improved financial packages.
