As the countdown to the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations intensifies, Ugandan football has secured a significant victory off the pitch. Two of the nation’s finest match officials, Razake Kasalirwe Lucky and Musisi Brianson, have been officially summoned by CAF for the prestigious preparatory course ahead of the tournament.

The continental showpiece, scheduled to run from May 13 to June 2, 2026, in Morocco, will see Africa’s elite youth talent battle for glory.

However, the presence of Kasalirwe and Musisi on the final list of selected referees underscores the rising standard of officiating in the Pearl of Africa.

The selection is a major nod to the CECAFA region, which is well-represented both on the touchlines and the field of play.
While Kasalirwe and Musisi gear up to enforce the laws of the game, the Uganda Cubs will be carrying the national flag on the turf alongside neighbors Tanzania, who were grouped in same Pool.

Both East African powerhouses secured their slots in the finals and will be looking to make a deep run in Moroccan territory.

The preparatory course is designed to sharpen the technical and physical readiness of the officials, ensuring world-class standards during the tournament.

For the Ugandan duo, this appointment is more than just a personal milestone; it is a testament to the rigorous training and consistency seen in the local leagues.
